Two Men, Two Journeys

This past Sunday, we continued our new series in the next section of Genesis, looking at the life of Abraham. We explored who Lot is, why he appears repeatedly in Abraham’s story, and what the contrast between Abraham and Lot teaches us about the importance of our choices.
We hope this teaching helps you wherever you are on your spiritual journey.

REFLECTION: Where are your eyes focused—on the things of this life rather than on God? Is there an altar you can go to to worship?

Where are you choosing death right now?

FURTHER UP, FURTHER IN: If you have not already, build some altars in your life. Go back through your life: have you had any powerful, transformative, or defining encounters with God? Where? What happened? What was said? What came after? Create a record you can reference, and if you can, set aside some objects from those times and/or go back to some of those places and spend time worshipping and consecrating yourself to God. Remember those altars when you’re afraid or discouraged or seduced by the world.
