Othniel and Ehud

Preacher:
Passage: Judges 3:7-30

Othniel and Ehud are two very different people that God used to deliver His people from oppression, one an obvious choice, the other less so. What do these warriors and their experiences have to teach us about God, ourselves, and the world?

Reflection-

Where are you not showing up?
Where are you focusing more on your weakness than on God’s strength?

Further Up, Further In-
Meditate on 1 Corinthians 1:18-31. What do you think it means that God chooses the foolish to shame the wise; the weak to shame the powerful; the nobodies to shame the somebodies? Why would He do this? Have you seen this play out in the world? How do you feel about God operating in the world in this way? What hope is there in this reality? What are your weaknesses and how can they be strengths when surrendered to God? How will this change things for you this week?
