This past Sunday we continued our series- The Life You Were Made For, looking at the what, why, and how of the Spirit-Filled Life. What are the signs that you have been filled? What changes in your life? This week- Prophecy, part 1. When God fills you He can give you insight and speak through you to others. This is called Prophecy in the New Testament and it is a neglected, misunderstood, and sometimes misused and abused gift. What is prophecy? What is it not? And how do we do it well for the encouragement and building up of the church?

We hope this teaching helps you wherever you are on your spiritual journey.

Take time this week to practice listening to the voice of God. Maybe pray before your Bible reading time, God what do I need to hear today? Or maybe go for a walk or to a quiet place and simply ask, God what do you think of me? How do you see me? What do I need to know? And then just listen for a while and see what happens. You might be surprised. Don’t give up if nothing happens the first time. Keep at it. Journal what you think you’re hearing and share your experiences with people who are more seasoned, mature, wise, and discerning.
