The Church Faces Opposition
While the church did experience favour in the early days, it wasn’t to be forever. This week, they start to face opposition. Peter and John have not traditionally done well with intimidation. How do they handle it this time? What made the difference?

Reflection- What might be causing you to miss seeing Jesus?
Where are you being driven by the perceptions, opinions, and reactions of others? Where do you need to say, “it is better for me to obey God than you”? Where do you need a fresh outpouring of the love of God?

Further Up, Further In- Take time this week to meditate on stories in the Scriptures of great boldness and courage in the face of opposition (Esther, David and Goliath, Daniel and his friends, the prophets, see Hebrews 11). Inspire yourself, and pray for God to do in you and in our church and in our day what He did in these stories, and for Him to do whatever needs to be done in our hearts for us to be bold.
